From the Forbidden City to Hornseys in Ripon... Shozo Michikawa...
During August and September we are privileged to be exhibiting work by Shozo Michikawa, a master Japanese ceramicist.
We will be exhibiting four pieces from the 22nd August onwards. This will coincide with Ed Kluz' solo exhibition here in the gallery and Ripon's 'Great North Art show', held in Ripon Cathedral and other 'satellite' locations around the city. Shozo Michikawa was born in Hokkaido in 1953. He studied at Aoyama Gakuin University, from where he graduated in 1975. He lives and works in Seto, Aichi. Shozo has exhibited in prestigious galleries and institutions world-wide, including the Forbidden City in Beijing, Galerie Besson in London, SOFA in Chicago, USA and the Izukan Gallery in the Phillipines.
