David Hockney's "Illustrations for Fourteen Poems from C P Cavafy" are a suite of 12 copper plate etchings for C P Cavafy's ‘Poems’, which was published in 1966 in an edition of 500. Hockney has always been a brilliant draughtsman and is considered as outstanding a printmaker as he is a painter. His print work has been a strong and ongoing part of his career from its outset. These images were produced after Hockney returned from a visit to Beirut.
